Chatsworth, CA January 29 2004-- Pacific Coast Lighting, a leader in lighting innovation and designs, announced today that home cable network Home and Garden Television (HGTV) will be showcasing Pacific Coast Lighting designer Joe O'Brien and his popular Cabana Joe's line of tropical lighting.

The network's "Country Style" decorating show, hosted by Michele Torres, will be airing a segment on Joe O'Brien on Saturday, January 31st. The segment will feature Joe's surfer lifestyle and reveal how his travels to a variety of world coastal regions - the Florida Keys, Southern California and the South Seas Islands - have come together for a style that is uniquely "Cabana Joe's." The show pictures Joe working at his 1940s-inspired bamboo desk. Surfboards hang overhead within easy reach should inspiration or the call of the waves beckon.

On having a chance to reveal his personal history, design style, and his Venice Beach, California, specialty furnishing store, O'Brien says, "I'm very excited about being able to appear on HGTV. It's a great chance for people around the country to learn about my lighting products and other home furnishing brands, and to get a feel for what's inspired me to create them." Added O'Brien, "My designs are what you get when you combine surfing, sun and casual beach design in one easy style."

Joe O'Brien started his career in lighting and interior design in the mid-‘80s, and began selling his own lighting designs from his unique shop in Venice, California, in 1995. He began his own home furnishing line in 1999 and today splits time between Los Angeles and Hawaii, surfing for the latest design trends. The Cabana Joe's lighting collection combines exotic woods and natural materials with rich fabrics and the occasional surfboard for an eclectic, casual and wonderfully livable look.
