Precision lighting, exclusive features

July 18, 2004 -- In partnership with Sharper Image Corporation, Verilux®, The Healthy Lighting Company™, is releasing their most advanced healthy lighting technology, incorporating a variety of ergonomic features for complete task lighting versatility at home or in the office. The new, brighter HappyEyes Deluxe Desk and Floor Lamps are available in Sharper Image's exclusive Burltech™ finish to complement a wider range of home or office decor.
"We're pleased to launch our most advanced task lighting fixtures with The Sharper Image as a partner," says Nicholas Harmon, Verilux President and CEO. "These lamps embody the sense of innovative style and functionality associated with The Sharper Image. HappyEyes Deluxe lighting fixtures provide better light for health and sight and ultimately better quality of life through healthy vision."
An energy-efficient fixture, the HappyEyes Deluxe offers two-level brightness control for light equivalent to a 100 and 150W incandescent bulb. With a high output electronic ballast, and a full coverage aluminized reflector, the HappyEyes Deluxe line is 20% brighter than Verilux's original HappyEyes line. An optically designed aluminized parabolic grid diffuser has been incorporated into the lamp design to reduce direct glare. Verilux glare reduction technology diffuses the light while maintaining the lamp's high brightness level. All HappyEyes Deluxe fixtures carry a three year warranty and feature built-in surge protection for safety and extended fixture life. In addition to Burltech, HappyEyes Deluxe desk and floor lamps are also available in cream and contemporary black.
HappyEyes produce a bright, white light similar to daylight, increasing contrast and reducing glare compared to standard incandescent or fluorescent lighting. Verilux bulbs feature a proprietary blend of rare earth phosphors, Trucolite® Phosphor Technology, that filter out any imbalance in the light spectrum, in particular excess yellow light. The Verilux light source closely simulates natural daylight, the kind of light the human eye was designed for. Because the eye strains less under HappyEyes daylight spectrum lights, reading, sewing, or any detail-oriented activities are enjoyed for much longer without causing fatigue or eyestrain headaches.
"We are excited to offer Verilux's design award-winning lamps in Burltech, our proprietary finish that looks like highly polished burlwood. This indoor lighting system would be an excellent addition to a home office, living room, den or anywhere where quality task lighting is desired," says Richard Thalheimer, Sharper Image's founder, chairman and chief executive officer.
